About Garrahan Hat Co.

From Vintage Finds to Timeless Craftsmanship

Garrahan Hat Co. began in the back of Joyride Vintage Men’s Store, where passion, history, and craftsmanship collided. Surrounded by vintage clothing and hats of the past, we set out to create something unique — hats with old-world tradition and design. What started as a small workshop in the back of a vintage store has now evolved into a respected brand known for its exceptional quality and craftsmanship.

The Art of Hat Making

At Garrahan Hat Co., we don't just make hats — we make history. Our collection draws inspiration from the timeless styles of the past, from the fedoras of the 1920s to 1950s to classic Western and military designs. We proudly combine vintage craftsmanship with the finest materials available today, ensuring that every hat we create is as durable as it is stylish.

Our workshop is equipped with antique blocking machines, hat blocks, sewing machines, and hand tools that date back to the 1850s. These meticulously restored Instruments  are not just tools — they’re a bridge to the past. They allow us to honor the rich traditions of hat-making while combining them with the finest materials and craftsmanship available today. Whether it’s shaping a classic wide-brim fedora or crafting a custom Western hat, we approach every piece with a profound respect for the artistry and heritage behind the craft

Reproducing History

What sets us apart is our unique ability to faithfully reproduce any hat from the past 200 years. Whether you're after a classic fedora from the Golden Age of Hollywood, a vintage bowler, or a timeless Western hat, we can bring it to life. With access to a vast collection of historical references, original designs, and traditional techniques, we expertly blend the artistry of yesteryear with the durability and comfort of classic craftsmanship to create a hat that feels as relevant today as it did when first made.

It was here, amid the collection of timeless pieces, that we started experimenting with creating hats that honored the past while bringing fresh, modern sensibilities. Garrahan Hat Co.

The name Garrahan is more than just a brand — it’s a tribute to my heritage. It was my grandmother’s maiden name, passed down through generations, and it carries deep Irish roots. Derived from the Gaelic surname Ó Garracháin, meaning "descendant of Garrachán," the name signifies strength and resilience, qualities that have shaped my family for generations.

Much like the meaning behind the name, Garrahan Hat Co. is built on a foundation of hard work, dedication, and craftsmanship. Every hat we create is a reflection of these values, combining time-honored traditions with an unwavering commitment to quality. The Garrahan name embodies the rugged spirit of Ireland — a legacy of perseverance and excellence — and we carry that forward in every piece we make.

At Garrahan Hat Co., we don’t just craft hats; we honor a family legacy, deeply rooted in both Irish heritage and the pursuit of craftsmanship. Each hat we create tells a story, continuing a tradition passed down through the generations, one stitch at a time.
